MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) A bull rider from Weather is in critical condition after a bull stepped on his head in Alabama.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association says Lee Akin of Weatherford was competing in the Southeastern Livestock Exposition and Rodeo in Montgomery, Alabama.

The PRCA says Akin was bucked off the bull and it stepped on the left side of his head.

Akin was taken to a Montgomery hospital where he is in the critical care unit following neurosurgery.
