4-Year-Old Girl Dies Of Injuries In Drive-By Shooting

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Two 4-year-old girls were shot in the head, one fatally, in what police believe was a gang-related attack on a group of people outside a home, authorities said Friday.

Datasha Wilson died Thursday night at Children's Hospital in Oakland, Hayward Police Lt. Reid Lindblom said. The family of the other girl, her cousin, has asked authorities not to release information about her condition, he said.

A bullet also grazed a 3-year-old boy, who was treated for minor injuries.

Police in Hayward were searching for three men in a vehicle who fired on a group of adults and children standing in a front yard Monday afternoon. Investigators are waiting for results from forensic tests on a car found near the scene that was similar to witness descriptions.
