ADA, Okla. (AP) -- A Pontotoc County man who pleaded no contest to kidnapping in the abduction and murder of a 16-year-old Ada girl is now a free man.

Faye Sliger was sentenced Thursday to 10 years with 8-and-a-half years suspended and credit for time served. He's been in jail since September 2005, meaning he's already served the year-and-a-half he was sentenced to Thursday.

Sliger was initially charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in the death of Catilin Wooten.

Wooten was taken from the parking lot of Ada High School and later killed by Jerry Don Savage on land owned by Sliger.

Savage was the ex-boyfriend of Wooten's mother.

Prosecutors accused Sliger of knowing of the plot and letting Savage use his pickup truck and land.

Sliger's first trial ended in mistrial when the jury couldn't reach a verdict and he pleaded no contest to the kidnapping charge on Monday after prosecutors agreed to drop the murder charge
