OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Sophomore Bailey Welch hits a layup at the buzzer to give Cashion the Class A high school girls basketball title with a 53-52 win over Howe at State Fair Arena.
Cashion closes at 23-3 while winning its second state title, with the other coming in 2000.
The Wildcats' win over Howe gave Kingfisher County schools a sweep of the small-school crowns, as Lomega beat Dover earlier Saturday in an all-Kingfisher County Class B title game.
Kingfisher County schools have won 22 girls basketball state titles, more than any other county in Oklahoma.
Aubrie Williams led Cashion with 14 points on 6-7 field-goal shooting. Bailey Welch added 13 points and 7-rebounds for the Wildcats.
Howe's Lindsay McCown had 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Katie BenAmor finished with 12 points for the Lions. Howe finishes 27-2.
