Assault Suspect Sought

Tulsa sex crimes detectives are looking for a man, who broke into an apartment, hit a 3-year-old girl in the face and tried to rape the girl's mother. It happened last Friday at 4 A.M. at the Westminster Apartments near 51st and Memorial.

The man broke in through a window, threw a blanket over the sleeping woman's head and hit her over and over and tried to choke until she passed out.

Bettie says she noticed her little girl had also been hit, because she had a bloody face. "Instinct takes over and I fought. I knew if I didn't fight, the turn-out could be a lot worse. I figured I may get hurt, but, if I'm going to be killed, I'm going to be killed fighting."

Tulsa Police say she fought for so long, the attacker finally ran out. The little girl's nose was not broken, but she did have a black eye. The mom required stitches and has bruises everywhere.
