Some Broken Arrow school teachers got a surprise in the classroom Thursday. Members of the Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation handed out 71 grants to very surprised teachers.
The teachers applied for the grants, but had no idea they had won. The grant money totaled more than $39,000.
7th Grade science teacher Kelly Flindt will use the money to buy supplies so her students can study a combination of space and weather. "It was a tremendous surprise. The Foundation is always great to help us out in any way they can to get supplies or to get resources in our classroom, so we can enhance the curriculum we have."
The Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation has been around since 1992.
