TULSA, Okla. (AP) Calvin Walls tipped in a missed shot by Brett McDade with 24 seconds left and Central Florida's Jermaine Taylor missed a floater with 3-seconds to go as Tulsa edged the Knights 66-64 in overtime on Saturday.
McDade led Tulsa (17-10, 7-7) with 15 points and had given the Golden Hurricane a 63-59 lead early in overtime with a 17-foot jumper. UCF (20-8, 9-5) came back to forge a 64-64 tie on two free throws by Mike O'Donnell with 1:24 to play.
Walls had 10 points and 8-rebounds for Tulsa, which held UCF to its worst shooting outing of the season at 34.6 percent. The Knights are 2nd in Conference USA with a field goal percentage of 45.3 but were outshot by the Hurricane, which made 44.7 percent (21-47).
Tulsa had the final shot to win it in regulation, but guard McDade missed a 12-foot jumper with 2-seconds to play after dribbling the clock down from 21 seconds. Ben Uzoh had given TU the chance with a steal from Chip Cartwright with 35 seconds to play.
UCF's Josh Peppers gave the Knights a 59-57 lead with a 3-pointer with 55 seconds left. TU's Jamel McLean scored inside and was fouled, but missed the free throw.
Lavell Payne had 14 points and 8-rebounds for UCF. O'Donnell scored 14 points and Peppers added 12.
UCF had a 39-36 rebound advantage.
