Tulsa Falls In Final Regular Season Home Game

The University of Tulsa womenâ€™s basketball team lost to the Rice Owls on Saturday 50-45.
Jillian Robbins lead the team with 14-points, 8-rebounds, 2-steals and a block. Jamie Dreiling also scored in the double digits adding 13 points; she also grabbed 5-rebounds, one steal and a block.
It was a low scoring first half due to a five-minute drought, but at the break Tulsa was leading by 4, 20-16. In the 2nd-half TU was up by 10, but the Owls went on a 22-7 run to win the game by 15.
Tulsa honored seniors Robbins, Tandem Mays and Chivis Merriweather prior to the game, and after the contest retired Robbinsâ€™ jersey. Robbins' holds the school record for points (2,035), rebounds (1,273), field goals (720), free throws (586), steals (336), blocked shots (244), and double-doubles (64), plus she's the only player in school history with a triple-double.
In her career at the University of Tulsa Robbins has earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, was named C-USA Player of the Year and Conference-USA Defensive Player of the Year. She was also selected as a three-time all-conference first team and two-time all-WAC defensive team performer, and has been named conference player of the week 13 times.
Tulsa fell to 10-16 on the season and 5-9 in Conference USA, while Rice moved to 16-11 and 9-5 in the league. The Hurricane returns to action on Thursday, against UTEP in El Paso, Texas. Game time is set for 8:05 p.m.
