History will be made on Saturday in the Reynolds Center. The University of Tulsa will retire senior All-American candidate Jillian Robbins' jersey after the TU-Rice game February 17th. Her jersey, #14, will be the first women’s jersey retired at TU.
Robbins' holds the school record for points (2,021), rebounds (1,265), field goals (714), free throws (584), steals (334), blocked shots (243), and double-doubles (64), plus she's the only player in school history with a triple-double.
In her career at the University of Tulsa Robbins has earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, was named C-USA Player of the Year and Conference-USA Defensive Player of the Year. She was also selected as a three-time all-conference first team and two-time all-WAC defensive team performer, and has been named conference player of the week 13 times.
Tulsa plays Rice on Saturday, tip off is at 2 p.m. Rice leads the series with TU 15-8, and in an earlier match-up this season Rice walked away with the win, 83-65.
The Golden Hurricane (10-15,5-8) is coming off an 81-73 win over Houston. The Owls (15-11, 8-5) are looking for another win after a 64-50 loss to SMU.
