WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) Western Kentucky breaks a scoreless tie with a 7-run 6th-inning outburst and goes on to beat Oklahoma 11-5 Sunday on the last day of the Hughes Brothers Challenge.
Troy Frazier went 2-5 with 3-RBIs for Western Kentucky, while Terrence Dayleg and Casey Hamilton each added a pair of hits and 2 RBIs for the Hilltoppers.
Oklahoma drops to 2-4 on the baseball season as the Sooners didn't score until the 9th-inning.
Western Kentucky sent 12 batters to the plate in the 6th-inning against 3- OU pitchers, including starter Ryan Mottern, whose record fell to 0-2.
The Hilltoppers added 4-insurance runs in the top of the 9th-inning.
OU scored all of its runs in the bottom of the 9th, highlighted by a 2-run double from Joseph Newman.
Western Kentucky freshman starter Matt Ridings allowed 5-hits in 5 shutout innings. The Hilltoppers are 2-1 on the season.
