OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A man shot and killed his ex-wife before turning the gun on himself Sunday following a domestic disturbance at the man's home on Oklahoma City's southeast side, police said.

The couple's 6-year-old son was inside the home during the shooting, but was not physically injured, Sgt. Kevin Barnes said.

"He was in another bedroom," Barnes said. "He was visibly shaken but unharmed."

The names and ages of the victims weren't immediately released.

The ex-wife, who arrived at the home to pick up her son, called police shortly after 9 a.m. to report a domestic disturbance, Barnes said.

When officers arrived at the scene, a witness told police she suspected the woman was in danger.

"We determined we needed to make entry into the home for her safety," Barnes said.

As officers entered the home, Barnes said they heard five or six gunshots and found the woman and her ex-husband dead.
