A mobile home fire north of Sapulpa has claimed the life of a Creek County resident.
The fire reported after 10 p.m. Wednesday, occurred in the 6300 block of South 58th West Avenue. After Sapulpa firefighters extinguished the blaze, they located a body inside the mobile home.
The Creek County Sheriff’s Office says the victim is identified as 46 year old Naomi Clark.
The sheriff’s office says an initial observation by an Oklahoma State Fire Marshal’s Office indicates that the fire may have been started on the bed in the victim’s bedroom. A neighbor told deputies, Clark had been involved in a similar incident over a year ago, when she accidentally started her mattress on fire while smoking.
Clark’s body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
