TULSA, Okla. (AP) Former Tulsa head coach Nolan Richardson, who turned around the fortunes of TU basketball in 1980 and 1981, will be inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday.

Richardson and three other former TU greats -- football stars Doug Wyatt and Sid Abramowitz and two-sport athlete Mike Marrs -- will be honored at halftime of Saturday’s SMU-Tulsa basketball match-up.

Richardson spent five years as the Golden Hurricane head coach, posting a 119-37 overall record for a .763 winning percentage.

He became the first coach in NCAA history to win 50 games in his first two seasons and led Tulsa to five postseason tournament appearances.

Richardson's first team claimed the NIT Championship in 1981 and his teams won two Missouri Valley Conference regular season titles.
