OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Henry wants to earmark a percentage of state income taxes to Oklahoma's college scholarship program.

The program pays college tuition for students who earn good grades and come from families making less than $50,000 a year.

Under Henry's plan, 1.25 percent of the state income tax would be dedicated to the program, producing about $36 million in scholarships for next year.

With other funding sources, the program would get a total of $48.5 million.
