OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A University of Oklahoma Medical Center graduate who was the top medical officer for US troops in Iraq was among the 12 people killed when a Black Hawk helicopter crashed this weekend.
Colonel Brian -D- Allgood had been serving in Iraq for about six months before the crash Saturday northeast of Baghdad.
Allgood's uncle, Doctor Richard Allgood of Lawton, confirmed his nephew's death and remembered him as a quiet but bright individual.
He says Allgood came from a family with a rich history in the military and was a third-generation graduate of the OU medical school.
