TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities in Tulsa Wednesday morning captured two escaped inmates, including a convicted killer, after a 40-hour search.

Captain Chris West of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 35-year-old Charles McDaniels and 23-year-old Tony Ellison were captured after a short car and foot pursuit near 40th and Richmond. There were no injuries.

The men escaped Monday from the medium-security Great Plains Correctional Center in Hinton, 50 miles west of Oklahoma City. A spokesman for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections said the men had cut through a fence in a recreation yard.

McDaniels is serving life in prison with the possibility of parole for a 1988 Tulsa murder.

Ellison is serving 15 years for car theft and an earlier escape.

Police say the two men abducted one person and committed two home invasions while on the run.
