FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ The University of Arkansas says former assistant coach David Lee will return to Arkansas to replace Gus Malzahn as offensive coordinator.

Malzahn left Arkansas on Monday to become assistant head coach and co-offensive coordinator at Tulsa. A day later, quarterback Mitch Mustain was granted his release from his scholarship.

Lee has been an assistant with the Dallas Cowboys since 2003. He was quarterbacks coach at Arkansas from 1984 through 1988 under Ken Hatfield and again in 2001 and 2002 under current Razorbacks head coach Houston Nutt.
