Interstate 40 in Muskogee County has re-opened to traffic after some high voltage power transmission lines fell across the highway Wednesday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the lines fell across both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-40, about 8 miles east of Checotah. That caused the OHP to close the highway.

OG&E crews were called in and erected temporary poles, so the interstate could be re-opened to traffic.
