A winter storm has left thousand of people across eastern Oklahoma without power. A number of communities have opened emergency shelters to house residents who have lost electrical service.

In Bristow, a shelter is set up at the First Baptist Church at 6th and Chestnut.

The Senior Citizens Center in Eufaula is also open to storm victims.

Two Red Cross shelters are operating in Locust Grove for those without power. One at the Fire Department at 108 South Broadway and the second at the Community Building located at 103 South Harrison.

In McAlester, the First Baptist Church on East Washington is open to those seeking shelter.

For folks in Muskogee without electricity, you’ll find shelter at 322 Callahan, and at the Muskogee Inn.

A Red Cross shelter has been opened in Langley to serve those without power in the towns of Langley, Disney, and Strang. The shelter is located at the First Christian Church in Langley.

In Pryor, shelters are open at the Methodist Church on Rowe and Main Street and the Graham Memorial Auditorium.

In Salina, the American Legion is now being used as a shelter.

The Cherokee County Detention Center is being used to house Tahlequah residents without power.

A shelter has been opened in Checotah at the Multi-purpose Building located at 2nd and Owen.

The city of Warner has a shelter for stranded motorists at the Warner Fire Station.

Grove residents can seek shelter at the Moose Lodge at 61951 East 315 Road.

Those impacted in Kansas, Oklahoma can use a shelter setup at the Northeast Vo-Tech.

Coweta and Porter residents are being directed to the shelter setup at the 1st Methodist Church in Coweta.

And in Jay, the shelter at the Jay Fire Station is full, but officials are opening a second shelter at the Old High School gym. A third shelter will open late Monday night at the Baptist church.
