EL RENO, Okla. (AP) -- A 26-year-old El Reno woman was killed early Saturday morning after the car she was riding in slammed into the back of a sand truck on Interstate 40.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Kendi Chadwick was pronounced dead at the scene about 2 AM Saturday. The patrol says Chadwick was a passenger in a sport-utility vehicle driven by Geneva Holt of El Reno.

The patrol says the sand truck was clearing ice from the shoulder when Holt's vehicle swerved off the roadway and slammed into the back of the sand truck.

Holt and the driver of the sand truck weren't injured. A second passenger in Holt's vehicle -- 22-year-old Hollie Jones of El Reno -- was listed in good condition at a local hospital.
