NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma kicks off the 2007 spring tennis season on Sunday against Prairie View A&M in Tulsa.

OU head coach Paul Lockwood says he's excited for the season to start. Lockwood says Sooner tennis players worked out hard over the holidays and are ready to start the spring season.

The Sooners have four returning letterwinners on this year's squad and welcome four new players to the team.

Among the returners are senior Marek Velicka, junior Federico Chavarria, junior Ryan Thomas and sophomore Sergey Avdeyev.

New players joining Oklahoma are sophomore Rob Mackenzie and freshmen Andrei Daescu, Ondrej Kacmar and Vaclav Kucera.
