OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Senator Jim Inhofe says the Air Force will send the first of the new KCX aircraft to Altus Air Force Base in southwest Oklahoma.
The KCX is still under development and is intended to replace the KC-135 Stratotanker which refuels other planes while in flight.
Inhofe says it appears the KCX will be completed in about five years.
The Altus Air Force Base is home to the 97th Air Mobility Wing which trains airlift and air refueling crews for the KC-135.
