A 54-year-old Stillwater man charged in connection with a fatal Grand Lake boating accident last year has a February 26 trial date set in the case.
John Special was charged last year in Delaware County with one count each of negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident or collision.
35-year-old Murray McGarvey of Brunswick, Georgia died after falling off a boat involved in the collision in the July 30th accident. His body wasn't found for nearly two weeks.
The man who was driving the boat McGarvey was in, Jason Bandy, has also been charged with negligent homicide. In court documents, the district attorney alleges that operators of both boats involved had been drinking prior to the accident.
A court hearing setting the trial date was held Friday.
