DETROIT (AP) A group of language purists never wants to hear the word "awesome" again.
Lake Superior State University is out with its annual list of words and phrases it wants banned from the English language.
"Awesome" is one of them. So's "truthiness," a favorite word of Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert.
The university also hates the practice of combining celebrity names like "TomKat" and "Brangelina." It says that's "so lame and pathetic that it's "lamethetic."'
Other words and phrases on the list include "gone missing," "we're pregnant," "ask your doctor" and "now playing in theaters."
