Tulsa police arrest two people they say were selling ecstasy to students at Jenks, Broken Arrow and Union High Schools. News on 6 reporter Chris Wright has the details.

Police emerged from this South Tulsa apartment Saturday night with ecstasy pills, pills they say the two people who live there were selling to students at three local high schools.

One man, 31-year-old Timothy Bray, was arrested at the apartment. A second person was taken into custody nearby.

"We basically just follow the trail and been doing some investigating, and determined that the people in this apartment have been distributing the pills," Officer Darin Shipley said.

They started following the trail after being contacted by the parents of a Jenks High School student. The student was reportedly hospitalized after an ecstasy overdose, and police say the parents were determined to find out who was dealing the drugs.

"The parents were the ones who gave us a lot of the information to get started with our investigation, and it just kind of rolled from there," said Shipley.

TPD believes Bray and his partner were distributing at least 100 ecstasy pills a week to Jenks High School alone.

Police say this came as a shock to many parents they talked to, many of whom had no idea their children were using the drug.

"They have to be involved because they need to know what their kids are doing. Most of these parents, when we went and talked to them, they had no idea their students were involved in this kind of thing," Shipley said.

Authorities also hope the bust sends a message to anyone thinking about using or selling ecstasy.

"They're going to get caught, eventually they're going to get caught. Somebody's going to get hurt, just like happened this time, and hopefully it won't be more serious than it was this time," said Shipley.

The Tulsa Police Department says Bray also had cocaine in his possession he intended to distribute.
