OPTIMA, Okla. (AP) _ A pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer in Texas County this morning, killing the pickup's teenage driver.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 17-year-old Gildardo Galindo of Guymon died in the 1:40 am collision.
The crash occurred on US 54 one-half mile west of Optima in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Troopers say the pickup was southbound on a county road and failed to stop at a stop sign, stricking the westbound tractor-trailer.
Galindo died at the scene. Two passengers in the pickup were medi-flighted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, in critical cndition.
The patrol says all three occupants of the pickup were wearing seat belts.
