THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) Newly crowned PGA Tour player of the year Tiger Woods is in a familiar spot.
He fired a second straight 4-under 68 to grab the lead after two rounds of the Target World Challenge. Woods sparked his round by hammering home a 40-foot birdie putt on the 9th hole that banged off the back of the cup, went airborne and dropped in. That helped Woods erase a 4-shot deficit and complete two rounds at 8-under par.
First round leader Henrik Stenson faltered with a par of bogeys on the back 9 and shot a 1-under 71 to trail Woods by 1 shot.
US Open champ Geoff Ogilvy and Chris DiMarco are two off the pace in the 16-man, $5.75 million tournament.
