A defense attorney says A 13 year prison sentence is too long for a man accused of killing a pedestrian and seriously injuring his 2-year-old daughter.
The accident happened in November of last year. 53-year-old Norman Stephens was driving on the Sand Springs Expressway when his pick-up hit 28-year-old Daniel Newman of Glenpool as he carried his daughter on the side of the road.
Newman died, and his daughter was hospitalized.
Stephens pleaded no contest. He'll return to court in June for a review of the sentence.
