OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Six fire departments in Oklahoma will be getting federal money as part of a Department of Homeland Security grant program.

The Daisy Volunteer Fire Department will receive more than $74,000 to buy a new vehicle and the Octavia Rural Fire Association is getting more than $166,000 for a new vehicle.

The other four departments are getting money for operations and safety programs.

The Tahlequah Fire Department will get more than $75,000; the Fly-Inn Fire Department at Carnegie is getting more than $47,000; the Guymon Fire Department gets more than $93,000; and the Ninnekah Fire Department will receive more than $94,000.

Homeland Security provides the grants to fire departments nationwide to help buy vehicles, equipment and support fire prevention activities.
