In Class 5A Carl Albert (12-1) will face Lawton Mac (10-3) in the championship game.
Carl Albert routed Altus in round one 38-6.
Round two another blowout, the Titans defense was too much for McAlester. The Buffalos fall to Carl Albert 47-8.
In the semi-finals Carl Albert came up against defending state champs East Central. The Titans were in control of the game going into halftime, 24-10. EC rallied after the half to tie the game. The game stayed deadlocked until the final minute of the 4th quarter. A 27 yard TD run pushed Carl Albert ahead, dashing East Central's hopes of a repeat. Final score, Carl Albert 31, East Central 24
The Titans will need to defeat Lawton Mac to take home the title of State Champs.
In round one Lawton Mac romped Noble, 48-14.
In the quarterfinals Lawton had a tough time with Ada. The Cougars owned the first 3 quarters, but in the 4th Lawton Mac turned the game around scoring back to back touchdowns. The Highlanders squeaked by Ada, 21-17.
Lawton Mac took on the Guthrie Bluejays in the semi-finals.
The Highlanders rolled to an early 14-0 lead. The Bluejays scored twice in the 2nd half, but it wasn't enough. Lawton Mac edged out Guthrie 14-12.
Carl Albert meets Lawton Mac in the 5A State Championship game on Monday at Owen Field. Kick off is at 1:30 pm.
