Looking at ways to winterize your home?

Experts say one of the easier ways is to buy an outdoor faucet cover. They'll prevent your pipes from breaking.

If your home has a crawl space, you may consider crawling underneath and putting foam insulation or a heat cable on your water pipes.

Putting weather stripping on your doors and windows can also save you a lot of money. John McMurtry with The Home Depot: "what that does is seal that small gap between that moving item whether it's a door or window and the frame stopping air flow through that door as little as a 16th of an inch of gap between your door."

Something else that is good to pick up, a can of Ice Melt. It won't protect your house, but it could help protect you from falling when walking out your front door.
