With a killer still on the loose, a woman who witnessed a murder Thursday talks only to the News on 6.

She was also shot and not only did she see the shooter, she says the shooter was her husband. News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan has the story.

Amanda Ramirez-Martinez spent Thanksgiving Day in the hospital. What happened to her, she says, hasn't sunk in.

"I still want to pick up the phone and call Carlos and see if he's OK," said shooting victim Amanda Ramirez-Martinez.

Carlos was her boyfriend. He was shot in the head, while they were sitting in her car talking. Amanda says the man who killed her boyfriend, and shot her twice, is her husband Manuel Ramirez-Martinez.

"Yeah the window was down, and he shot him right in the head, he tried to block it, but when he shoved his arm back, he started shooting and I just did that so I didn't see the rest," Amanda said.

Amanda was dating Carlos while living with and divorcing Manuel. She said he had hit her, and threatened her boyfriend, but she didn't believe he was dangerous.

Amanda says Manuel walked up to the car without speaking, fired the shots and ran away. He missed their two-year-old son Alex, who was asleep in the back seat. A police officer comforted Alex at the scene while Amanda left in an ambulance.

Even though the killer is still on the run, Amanda doesn't think she's in danger.

"I don't think he wants to kill me because earlier that night he told me you'll never forget me and I said yes I will, I'll move on, and he said no, you'll never forget me."

Amanda had called the police on Manuel for hitting her earlier Thursday evening; she’d planned to get a protective order after the holidays.

She came forward to talk in the hope that someone will see his picture, see him and call police.
