Citizens of Tulsa will help choose the city's next police chief.

Four public forums will be held next month to gather input from Tulsans on the characteristics they want in an ideal candidate. Chief Dave Been announced he's retiring.

Mayor Kathy Taylor and Police Chief Dave Been will attend the forums. The mayor says she considers finding a replacement one of the most important decisions for her administration.

She wants a successor in place by May 1st.
