John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa has provided needy families with Thanksgiving meals for 16 years. But this year's donations could result in more famine than feast.
Turkey donations are low this year. At last check, only 300 birds have been donated to the mission.
Reverend Steve Whitaker: "We're still about 500 turkeys short. We're really short on things like trimmings. It's wonderful that people have provided the turkey, that's the real high-dollar item if you will but there's still the need for things like stuffing and potatoes and yams."
If you'd like to help, drop off your donation at the mission shelter at 506 North Cheyenne Avenue in Tulsa.
"Under The Sun" at 91st and Sheridan is also taking and matching any and all turkey donations to help the John 3:16 Mission.
