Holidays mean long lines at the store, post office and at the airports. 25-million people are expected to fly during the next week and a half.
If you're planning on jumping on a plane for Thanksgiving, the best piece of advice is still - "get there early".
Whether you're still surfing on-line for a last minute deal or already have your ticket booked, before you head to the airport, experts say "have a plan." There are still ways to save money and time. Experts say book your flight for Thanksgiving Day or even the day after. Plan on flying back during the middle of the week when planes will be a little lighter.
And as always tougher restrictions mean longer lines and delays. Travel expert Tom Parsons: "They'll give you one try to go thru security, if you fail the second time you'll get the wand and that's gonna delay you even further so the best thing to do is take everything out of your pockets and put them in those little bowls."
Still the best advice is to arrive early. Experts say you should get to the airport 90 minutes to two hours before your flight.
Big bottles of liquids and gels in carry-ons won't fly anymore. Instead the 3-1-1 rule applies. Three ounce containers of shampoos and lotions in one quart sized baggie. One baggie per traveler.
