A Miami firefighter is hospitalized in critical condition after being injured while fighting a truck fire in Ottawa County.

Authorities say Bill Bunch fell 40 feet from a bridge about a mile west of the Miami exit on the Will Rogers Turnpike.

The accident happened Monday night.

Bunch was taken by helicopter ambulance to a hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
