OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) New Orleans Hornets starting forward David West will miss at least two games with a strained right forearm.

Hornets spokesman Scott Hall says West will miss the team's home game in Oklahoma City today against the Charlotte Bobcats and tomorrow night's road game against the Detroit Pistons.

West injured the forearm during the Hornets' loss at Portland on Friday. He played despite the injury on Sunday, missing his first five shots and going 3-12 from the field as the Hornets lost 92-76 to the Los Angeles Clippers.

That was the Hornets' third straight loss after a 4-0 start.

Hall says the team hopes West can return in time for the Hornets' game Saturday at Minnesota.

Hornets coach Byron Scott has not decided on who might replace West in the team's starting lineup. Linton Johnson, rookie Cedric Simmons and Brandon Bass are the likely candidates to do so.
