Firefighters in Inola had their hands full battling a grassfire Sunday afternoon.
Dry conditions helped spread the flames, which scorched a thousand acres. At one point witnesses said the fire was nearly three miles long.
An unattended trash fire sparked the grassfire, said investigators.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it reached a nearby home. The fire is now out. There are no reports of injuries, or damage to homes.
