STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton has dismissed guard Jamaal Brown from the Cowboys' basketball team, just prior to the team's season opener Friday night.

Brown had been suspended indefinitely during the run-up to the season.

After transferring to the Cowboys from the College of Southern Idaho last season, Brown played in all 33 of the team's games and averaged 5.5 points and 3.1 assists.

Brown started 13 times and was 2nd on the team in 3 pointers and 3rd in assists.

Sutton says Brown will stay in school at OSU and is planning to graduate in May.

The Cowboys' season opener is Friday night against Florida Atlantic.
