GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) _ The chairman of Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores is apologizing to Langston University and the NAACP for closing two stores at Guthrie recently.
The stores were closed from about 1 AM until about 4 AM on October 29th after a homecoming celebration at Langston.
Love's officials say there had been several incidents of theft and unruly behavior in the days before homecoming and the stores were closed at the recommendation of Guthrie police and as a security precaution.
The NAACP says the closings were racially motivated.
Love's Chairman Tom Love has met with Langston officials and university President JoAnn Haysbert says she appreciates the response.
