OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Democratic Governor Brad Henry is the odds-on choice to win a second term over Republican Ernest Istook in Tuesdayâ€™s general election.

Pollsters believe the tightest statewide races could be for lieutenant governor, labor commissioner and auditor and inspector.

State Election Board Secretary Mike Clingman expects a moderate turnout of about 900,000, or about 44 percent of the more than 2 million registered voters in the state.

Henry would be the third governor to win a successive term if he defeats Istook -- a seven-term conservative congressman who represented Oklahoma Fifth Congressional District.

Oklahoma governors could not succeed themselves until adoption of a constitutional amendment in the 1960s.
