For the second time this week, fire has claimed the life of a child in eastern Oklahoma.

16-month-old Desiree Parks was killed after her family's home near Cleveland caught fire. The Pawnee County Sheriffâ€™s Office says her father tried to go back into the house and save her, but was unable to get her.

Desiree's grandparents say they will remember her as a beautiful and loving child. Cheryl Allen: "she was a gorgeous baby, happy loving, caring; I mean she was just happy all the time. She didn't cry unless she wanted this.â€

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Family members believe it was caused by a faulty electrical outlet.
