For the second time this week, fire has claimed the life of a child in eastern Oklahoma.
16-month-old Desiree Parks was killed after her family's home near Cleveland caught fire. The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office says her father tried to go back into the house and save her, but was unable to get her.
Desiree's grandparents say they will remember her as a beautiful and loving child. Cheryl Allen: "she was a gorgeous baby, happy loving, caring; I mean she was just happy all the time. She didn't cry unless she wanted this.â€
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Family members believe it was caused by a faulty electrical outlet.
