IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Oklahoma is the pre-season favorite of Big 12 coaches to win the women's conference basketball championship.
With OU returning all five starters from last season conference and conference tournament championship teams the Sooners received 11 of 12 first place votes.
Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale picked second-place Texas A&M to win the conference since coaches aren't allowed to vote for their own team.
OU became the first women's team to go undefeated in conference play last season and currently has a 17-game win streak in regular season Big 12 games, dating back to the 2004-05 season.
The Sooners are ranked as high as second nationally in preseason publications. Texas A&M, Baylor, Iowa State, Texas, Kansas State and Texas Tech have also received recognition in preseason polls.
The OSU Cowgirls were ranked at the bottom of this year's list.
