OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Ernest Istook is charging that Democratic incumbent Brad Henry is paroling too many drug dealers.

Istook said at a news conference Monday Henry is only pretending he is tough on drugs.

Henry's spokesman, Paul Sund, says the congressman was distorting Henry's record and said Henry had handled paroles similar to every governor before him.

Istook says the state should do what it takes to keep drug traffickers behind bars event if it means building new prisons or other facilities.
