The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in identifying a body found in the woods over the weekend.
Chief investigator Jason Chennault says hunters found the decomposed remains near a creek north of Tahlequah on Saturday.
Chennault says they've released two pictures of items found on the body in hopes someone can ID the remains. They include motorcycle-type boots and a medallion.
The sheriff's office is investigating the death as a possible homicide.
Anyone with information about the identity of the person is asked to call the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at 800-522-8017 or the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 918-456-2583.
