One of the special attractions of the Tulsa State Fair is the food. It is often food you can't find anywhere else.
News on 6 reporter Rick Wells headed for Expo Square on what he told us was his "Deep-Fat Fry-Day " tour.
Turkey leg and cheese on a stick. I went to the Tulsa State Fair and I was looking for some deep fried stuff. In one booth I've hit the bonanza. Garlic mashed potatoes on a stick.
Sarah and her husband Tony are here from Minnesota. I asked for a sampler platter. Everything they've got is deep-fried, including cauliflower.
Some kids were here on a field trip. They like the little wedges of deep-fried Mac and cheese. There is broccoli and cheese, deep-fried of course. Around the corner, I found deep fried ham and cheese.
There was also deep fried smores and deep-fried brownies. That includes powdered sugar and whipped cream. Very chocolatee.
I also found fried pickles and fried peaches. Fried pickles and fried peaches for desert.
Rick Wells will have the weekend to recover. The Tulsa State Fair, of course, runs through Sunday the 8th.
