NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops says it's too early to start a Heisman Trophy campaign for running back Adrian Peterson.

Peterson was the runner-up for the Heisman as a freshman two years ago and currently is second in the nation in rushing and all-purpose yards.

Stoops says talk of the Heisman should come later in the season and points out OU hasn't even played a conference game yet.

The Sooners are off Saturday and play Texas in Dallas next week.
