A special prosecutor will now oversee a Pittsburg County murder case, after the Pittsburg DA recuses himself.

District Attorney Bob Miller sent Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson a letter last week, asking him to appoint another DA in the Ty Mordecai murder case. Apparently Miller knows the man who authorities say shot and killed Mordecai last August.

Mordecai's mother Kathy has asked Miller be removed from the case because she says there's a conflict of interest. Miller denied there was a conflict, but says he wants to take every step to avoid the appearance of one.
