STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State University President David Schmidly tells regents that enrollment in the OSU system has dropped slightly this fall.
Schmidly said 32,402 students had enrolled at OSU's main campus in Stillwater and satellite campuses in Okmulgee, Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
That's down 314 students, or 1 percent, from last year.
Schmidly attributes the drop to a decline in the number of high school graduates in Oklahoma, and says OSU needs to strengthen its out-of-state recruiting.
OSU has opened student recruitment offices in Dallas, Houston and at two universities in Mexico.
He says about 77 percent of OSU students come from Oklahoma.
