SHATTUCK, Okla. (AP) _ The town of Shattuck in far northwest Oklahoma is expected to see an economic boom in the next few months.

Construction is set to begin next month on a $100-million ethanol plant.

Orian Ethanol's Vice President of Risk Management Josh Barker says construction on the plant should take between 13 and 14 months before the plant comes online. The company is looking toward a completion date in early 2008.

Construction is expected to bring about 200 workers to the small Ellis County town each day.

Barker says the economic spillover from those workers should also help surrounding communities.

Once the new facility is online, the plant is expected to employ about three dozen people.
